General Manager - Temperature Controlled Facility
Joliet, IL | $145,000-$165,000 + up to $24,000 bonus | Floor-Present Leadership Role
Startup-phase, rapidly growing temperature-controlled logistics facility (80 employees, 7-day/multi-shift operation) seeking a GM to stabilize leadership and drive disciplined execution.
This is NOT a corporate P&L-heavy role. This is hands-on, floor-present operational leadership.
Bonus Structure: Up to $24K tied to Safety, Inventory Accuracy, and Labor Performance.
The Operation:
- ~80 total employees (35 temp/contract, goal to reach 80% direct)
- 7-day operation: 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts
- Import and export flows, floor-loaded containers
- Proprietary labor management and WMS platforms
- Data-driven KPI environment
Primary Focus Areas:
- Safety and inventory accuracy
- Labor performance and workforce stability
- Export execution (US food export - non-negotiable requirement)
- Team development and supervisor capability
Required Experience:
- 7-10+ years warehouse or cold storage leadership
- Strong US food export experience from cold storage (non-negotiable)
- 5+ years in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
- WMS platform experience
- Startup or high-growth environment comfort
Bilingual a plus, not required. Local candidates preferred.
