ROLE DESCRIPTION
National Director of Logistics
Whitestone, NY (Queens area) | $175,000-$200,000 | Full Relocation | Direct Hire
Responsible for Domestic and International Freight, company-owned and third-party Distribution Centers, and Corporate Inventory Control. End-to-end supply chain ownership with P&L responsibility across logistics network.
Key Responsibilities:
Domestic & International Logistics:
- Lead all domestic and international freight operations for on-time, cost-optimized delivery
- Freight P&L accountability across all stores and distribution centers
- Manage carrier/forwarder relationships, RFPs, rate negotiations, routing guide enforcement
- Oversee international container flow, port performance, customs compliance
- Develop systems and technology to enhance supply chain efficiency
Distribution Centers & Inventory Control:
- Full DC P&L responsibility
- Direct day-to-day performance of company-owned DCs
- Hold 3PL partners accountable through KPIs and operational reviews
- Minimize shrink through inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and disciplined process adherence
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
- 7+ years progressive logistics or supply chain leadership including DC operations management
- Proven success leading high-performance teams and driving continuous improvement culture
- Food distribution experience preferred
- Must be proficient in freight, transportation, warehouse, Excel, AND store operations (this role wears many hats)
